If you had asked me many years ago when I graduated from Richland High School if I would be living in Eastern Washington on a blueberry farm I would have replied “never!”.
I moved to Western Washington and as luck would have it I married a guy with a dream
of farming in Eastern Washington! Years passed and I did not give farming much thought. After 28 years as a healthcare provider I knew I was ready for a change and my husband’s dream of farming had grown stronger than ever.
In December 2014 while visiting family in the Tri-Cities my husband and I came across a listing for a farm in Prosser, WA. We decided right then and there to go check it out. One look at this property and I knew I had found the pathway to my new career.
My husband's job afforded him the freedom to relocate. But most significantly,
we both understood we were given the opportunity to make a dream come true! So we packed up our belongings and left our tiny apartment near the Seattle Center and moved to the sunlit side of the state. Our son graduated from WSU and received his doctorate from EWU, so we are now deeply rooted residents of Eastern Washington!
It is our sincere hope that you will find our farm as welcoming and peaceful as we have found it to be and that you will feel at home here at Sunlight Farms from the moment you arrive! We hope to see you soon.
